Getting started
For those that have not used this site before or are new to renting holiday homes directly from the owners in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, the following guidelines will help you:
Registration
Register today and within minutes you can create an online advert for your holiday home. Registration is free, there is no obligation to complete the advert, and no payment due until you are ready to advertise on the live site. Once activated, enquiries come directly to your inbox. HiHomeChina.com does not give your data to third parties.
Simply select 'Register' on the homepage, fill in your contact details and a password, then click 'Continue'. Store your User ID and password in a safe place so that you can login to your account at a later stage.
If you wish to change your personal data and contact data, you should login first, then click on 'My Account', and then go to 'My Profile'.
List a Home
- Once your registration is completed successfully, you can login and create new adverts for your holiday homes. You can also edit or delete them later on.
- Select 'List a Home' to begin advertising your home and entering the details of your property. Fill in each of the remaining sections - property details, area and rent information – by clicking through those sections. After completing the form press the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page.
- In order for you to gain more booking enquiries, we suggest you provide your ID and a Title Certificate of Property online. Use the 'Browse' button to upload a photo. Accepted format:JPG, GIF,PNG.
- All users have the ability to upload and add photos online by clicking 'Photos' and uploading JPG images. For a VIP member, the booking calendar allows you to display the available or booked periods for the home to potential tenants.
- Adverts are normally activated within two working hours. If you need any assistance during the process we are more than happy to help. You can ask us for assistance at any time using the Contact Us page on the website.
- If you would like to change your advert, login then go to 'Adverts Management' where you can edit the adverts you have placed. If you click on 'delete', the chosen object will be deleted from the listings.
Find a Home
There are different options of searching a home. Search our home listings either by maps, by location or by type of homes on the homepage. Once you find a home you are interested in and it is easy to contact the owner directly. Booking and advertising are easy, as many of the properties have an availability calendar so you can see immediately if the property is available for the period you want. You simply need to get in touch with the owner through our enquiry form on the bottom of the page of the home you are interested in and they will answer any questions you might have and arrange the rental for you.
Also, you can select 'Find a Home' to begin your holiday home hunting. After completion of all the details in the form. click the 'Submit' button and then your advert for finding a home is placed. Home owners may contact you directly.
Many of our owners can now take credit card bookings giving you added security and comfort.
Shortlist
Whilst browsing through the holiday homes by maps, location, type of rental or featured holiday homes on the Home Page, you can easily add those homes you are interested in to your Shortlist where you have the ability to review, remove, directly contact the owner, tell your friends, etc.
Fees and Payment
After you have completed the registration on our website, we offer you a free, no-obligation 365-day trial. Once the period expires, you can choose to place your advert on a one-time basis or become a VIP member that allows you to use all the functions.

To make a payment, there are a few options, such as online banking, credit card, t / t, etc.
Contacting the owner
There are two options for contacting the owner:
Option 1: You will find the contact details (telephone, fax and/or email) of the owner at the bottom of each advertisement. If emailing, please give your name, email address, telephone number and state the number of people plus the dates that you are interested in. If you have any particular requirements or questions to ask, there is room on the form for this.
Option2: You can use 'Site Mailbox'to send an instant message directly to the owner. Remember that these are private owners and that they may possibly be away from their internet connection for a few days. Most will respond immediately but if you do not get a response within a couple of days, we would recommend that you telephone them.
Make a Booking
Each home owner will have their own way of processing a booking. However, as a guideline, you should expect to pay a deposit to secure the booking of between 10-25% percent of the total rental. This is normally paid either by bank transfer or by credit card. The owner should confirm the booking and receipt of your payment by email. The balance is normally paid around 8 weeks before the start of the holiday. Often a breakage deposit is required with the balance, and this is refundable at the end of the holiday less other costs if there are any not included in the rental rate. Please check the cancellation terms with the owner at the time of booking – deposits are often non-refundable and they may have a sliding scale of charges for last minute cancellation after the balance has been paid. We recommend that you ask for any terms and conditions in writing.
Arriving at the Property
Make sure that you have the address and directions to the homes. These are normally sent to you on payment of the balance. Some owners will be very happy to pick you up at the airport, some may stay on site and be there to welcome you, whilst others may have a local representative or neighbour who will meet you. Remember to bring all the contact information of the home owner with you all the time.
My Feedback
No matter you are a landlord or a tenant, you may receive a feedback from the other party after a deal is made. All the contents of feedbacks - positive, neutral and negative ones - can be viewed by all users, and you can't delete them. Therefore, we suggest you take a look at the other party's previous performance and credit by clicking 'My Feedback' before you wish to proceed further. In doing so, it helps you make a judgement on the person you intend to contact.
ID Verification
It is important that you display your personal ID or Title Certificate of Property (It is also called a property ID) by using the 'Browse' button to upload it. By doing this, it helps create a more trusted online property rental relationship and reassures the client that you are the genuine homeowner. Tenants can rent a home from a verified owner with greater confidence..
ID verified are optional and it is also free of charge. It normally takes 1–3 working days to do the verification. Once your ID is verified, it cannot be updated.
Home owners who have got their ID verified will be shown as ; Business members who have got their ID verified will be shown as .
If a verification on your ID fails, please check it out, and you can upload it again.
Your personal information is private and will only be known to Jade Networks Limited. Protecting your privacy is very important to us.
Manage Your Homes
As a VIP member, if you have several properties, we offer you the ability to manage them, including:photos, calendar, bookings, and management of editing, relisting and adding new homes.
To edit your photos or add more, click on Enter in the photos column;
To edit the listings in the calendar, click Enter in the Calendar column;
To edit the listing, click Edit in the Edit column;
To view your bookings, click on View in the Bookings column;
Use the Status column to list, relist or update your listing;
Click Delete to delete your listing.
Site Mailbox
Instead of using their own email addresses, all users have the ability to send an instant message on the site directly to the person you are interested to contact about a rental. It ensures that wherever a site user is, whether it's a renter or landlord, as long as they can access the internet, you can see your site mailbox. It also means that if you are at work, you can check your messages without having private email coming to a work account. It is the easiest and quickest way for the users to communicate with each other and conclude the tenancy whilst maintaining privacy.
Simply enter the person's user name in the form and then write a message and send it out. When you log in and view your inbox you will see any new messages.
Tools
We offer VIP members the ability to use Electronic Chinese-English dictionary, Foreign Currency Exchange and message/ letter templates.
How to improve the performance of my adverts
There are many things you may be able to do to increase the effectiveness of your ads:
- How much information have you provided on your listing?
We recommend including as much information about your property and the area as possible, including attractions that are nearby. The more words in your listing, the more content that gets registered with the search engines for it. Be sure to include all the words and phrases that you think potential visitors to your property may search for on the web.
- How well are you displaying the best features of your property?
Remember the objective is to show off your property - don't miss off any important attractions or features of your home. Include all appliances, any specifics about its view and noise level, how many people the property can accommodate, etc.
- Make good use of the 'Short description' field when completing your property details page.
This field is shown to holidaymakers on the search results pages when they are deciding which properties to look at in more detail.
- Is your property appropriately priced?
Take a look at other similar properties on this and other sites to see that you are not overcharging.
- Do you provide sufficient information to your visitors?
Specifically pricing, availability notes, facilities, directions of how to get there. If there is an easy way to get to your area such as a cheap airline provider then tell people who they are and any useful information. Often, if you don't satisfy a visitor's curiosity they don't bother writing to ask, they just move on to another property that does.
- It is important that you display your ID and Title Certificate of Property by using the 'Browse'. By doing this, it helps create a more trusted online property rental and reassures the client that you are a genuine home owner. Tenants can rent a home from a verified home owner with greater confidence. Owners are therefore likely to increase their rentals.
- Ensure you give good service all the time.

Troubleshooter
You can't login?
It may just be that you need to press the 'back' button and try again. If you have experienced consistent problems logging onto your account it could be that you have set your browser not to accept cookies. On your browser click on Tools, Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab. Now click on the 'Edit' button and where it says 'Address of website' type in www.hihomechina.com and click the 'Allow' button. This will let your browser accept cookies from our site only. Please note that you need to then close your browser completely and open a new one for these changes to come into effect.
When I try to upload photos to the site it always seems to time-out. What can I do?
If this happens you are probably trying to add photos that are too big for the speed of your internet connection. You ideally need to use an image editor to resize you images to just 640 pixels across and 480 pixels high. Failing this you may need to try to email it to us at: support@hihomechina.com.
Any other problems
All home owners should leave instructions at the property for contacting either themselves or their local representative. If you find that you have a problem or an item of equipment breaks down, please call them straight away. Either they or their representative will have the local knowledge to put things right. If you can't get hold of the owner or their representative straight away, just ask a building manager (if there is one), or your neighbour for help. They will usually be happy to help you. It is essential to air any difficulties on the spot as this gives the owner the chance to ensure your holiday is not spoilt. Please do not save up complaints until after you return home.
